OTH Impact On Wilmington Area Buisnesses
Wilmington-filmed "One Tree Hill" is in its seventh season, but the show is in limbo for an eighth year.Wilmington is nicknamed "Hollywood East." The problem is "One Tree Hill" is one of the only things currently filmed here, so if there's not an eighth season, many businesses who rely on TV and movie productions will likely suffer. So will other businesses.
The Dixie Grill on Market Street downtown has been used as a setting for several episodes, leading fans to stop by for a meal. The same goes for the Port City Java across from OTH's "Clothes over Bros" set on Front Street.Both business say losing the show would likely hurt their bottom line.
Today the CW announced early pick-up commitments for five of its shows for next season. "One Tree Hill" was not on that list. No word on when the network will decide the young adult drama's fate.

"Providence Of Night" Reel Released
The official sizzle reel for Barry Corbin and Hilarie Burton's movie Provinces of Night has been released! Hilarie filmed the movie based off the novel by William Gay last summer in North Carolina. Hil plays the role of "Hazel" and Barry plays "Itchy".
The former One Tree Hill stars share the screen with Van Kilmer, Kris Kristofferson, and Hilary Duff.

SPRING BREAK ON THE HILL
Official message from The CW: One Tree Hill wants to put you to work during the filming of the season finale. This is definitely not your typical Spring Break experience! You'll have the opportunity to fly to Wilmington, North Carolina and work as a Production Assistant to the cast and crew.

OTH Pays Homeage to John Huges
Zap2it reviewed last nights episode of One Tree Hill, a tribute to the memory of John Hughes and his films that inspired us all growing up.
The website also compiled a list of references to classic Hughes movies such as, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, and Pretty in Pink. Who else noticed the Kristy Swanson scene as a reference to Chevy Chase seeing Christie Brinkley in the red car during National Lampoon's Vacation?

Trouble Ahead For Quinn & Clay
What was it like joining an established show?
Shantel VanSanten: I came in so nervous because I had actually never watched an episode so I was really overwhelmed. In Episode 1, we shot a big cake fight scene, and... I was like, "This is going to be great." I love working with Joy [Galeotti], she's incredible and really understanding if I don't know a certain storyline, or if I don't know what happened in her life previously.

Are David and Taylor really together?
VanSanten: They're together. We have a huge dinner that they cook for us in [Monday's] episode, and there's a lot of underlying issues that come out between Haley and Taylor, and myself and Taylor. It comes to a head and ends in a pool. Quinn knows she's made mistakes in her past, and I know a lot of people resent [her] for the way that she's handled the whole thing. It's hard because we picked up at the very end when she was separated from [David], when they completely fell out of love with each other. She didn't just jump into bed with Clay; they really leaned on each other when they were going through a hard time and ended up falling in love.

Antwon Tanner Gets 3 Month Prison Term For Fraud
Antwon Tanner, a regular on the popular teen drama "One Tree Hill," was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Brooklyn to 3 months in prison for dealing in stolen Social Security numbers.
"The court is troubled that someone in Mr. Tanner's position, making the funds he is making, engages in this type of criminal conduct," U.S. District Judge Carol Amon said.

Robert Buckely On NC, Clay's shady past & being a playboy
You’ve been filming on the “One Tree Hill” set down in North Carolina for while now, no?
RB: Yes ma’am. We started around mid to late June.
Are you getting used to it?
RB: The humidity? No. But the rest of living in North Carolina? So far, so good, yeah.
You like it?
RB: Yeah, I do. I’ve had a blast so far.
Are you having fun playing Clay? Do you like the character?
RB: Yeah I do, quite a bit. [Show creator] Mark Schwahn gave me a lot of gifts with this character. The guy’s got a lot to him, a lot going on. A lot of hurt and mystery in his past, which is a fun thing for an actor to play. Ideally, if you do it right, it’s really entertaining for an audience to watch. It’s always fun when you’re playing a secret or when the audience doesn’t know exactly what’s happening. When everything’s out there, when the character is very obvious — like, these are the good guys, perfectly clean and the guys everyone likes — that kind of gets old. To dirty it up, to mess things up, it’s good. You don’t know whether to love him or to question his motives.

Mark Schwahn Talks Entrances & Exoduses on “One Tree Hill”
When an established television series loses two popular (and central) original cast members, there’s bound to be some nervousness about moving forward with new blood. That said, any nervousness about the new season of the CW’s “One Tree Hill,” which returned a few weeks ago without departed stars Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, was quickly quelled after the first two episodes delivered solid ratings and, subsequently, a full season order from the CW. Jim Halterman talked with “OTH” series creator and executive producer Mark Schwahn about how time jumping brought longevity, how’s it good to be bad and writing shirtless scenes for the sexy group of men on the show.

One Tree Hill’s’ strong roots

It’s the CW’s dirty little secret: In its seventh season, “One Tree Hill” is watched by more people than the network’s “it” show, “Gossip Girl.” It always has been.The success, hushed though it has been, has come despite major upheavals to the show, a sort of earnest older sister to younger, hipper series such as “90210″ and “Gossip.” Since launching in 2003, “One Tree Hill” has occupied five time slots, switched networks and survived a risky plot decision to jump its high school-age characters four years into the future.

Were you an “OTH” viewer before joining the show?
Robert Buckley: It’s funny because [right] before I left for [filming], there was a USC fight on and I had about 10 of my close guy friends over. And we’re watching the fight, just hanging out — totally being guys. And my sister-in-law walks in the room, and makes a comment, laughs. She comes back an hour later, “One Tree Hill” is on and the room is completely silent — with 10 grown men totally enthralled, glued to the television. She was just like, “What is happening?!” We said, “Shh! Nathan and Haley are fighting, quiet.” It kinda hit me like, “oh this isn’t just a show for young viewers, this is a good show, across the board.”

Does ‘OTH Star Sophia Bush Have Better ‘That’s What She Said’ Jokes Than Steve Carell?
OK so something weird is happening on “One Tree Hill” — for some reason Sophia Bush’s character, Brooke Davis, is slowly morphing into “The Office” boss Michael Scott. Sure, it’s hard (that’s what she said!) for anyone to top Steve Carell’s amazing delivery of his now infamous “that’s what she said” jokes on the NBC sitcom, but Sophia is slowly coming close (that’s what she said!) on “One Tree Hill.”
For the past two episodes Brooke has, in our humble opinion, made some pretty funny “TWSS” jokes. In fact, they are dirtier than most we’d hear on “The Office.” Did you guys catch the one from last week when she and Julian (Austin Nichols) and he asks her is she’s coming (to join him for a nude swim) and she retorts under her breath, “That’s what she said!”? Um, that is a ballsy (that’s what she said!… yeah we can’t help ourselves either) comment for a CW show, right?

Full Season for OTH
According to Variety, One Tree Hill has been picked up for a full season, and the CW ordered a back 9 — of scripts, but not episodes, for The Vampire Diaries. Vampire Diaries has been CW’s biggest hit so far this season, and has CW’s biggest premiere ever with 4.9 million.

Austin Nichols Says Things are “Gonna Get Messy” for Brulian
One Tree Hill has a new look for season 7, and one of the major parts to that overhaul was bumping Austin Nichols up to a series regular as Julian, Brooke’s beloved movie producer. The season 7 premiere saw the two making out on the beach quite a bit, and while Brulian lovers could certainly watch those two go at it all day long, Tree Hill relationships are never that simple.
I spoke to Austin about the new season of One Tree Hill, and he revealed some spoilers about what Julian is up to and which character from his past will return, what (or who) will cause some trouble for Brooke and Julian’s relationship, and when we’ll get to see Julian hanging out with Jamie.
Brooke and Julian found themselves in a very good and happy place on the season 7 premiere, but Nichols says it won’t stay that way for long. “I’d love to kiss a pretty girl on the beach all the time, but it’s definitely gonna get messy.”
Who will be the person throwing “a wrench into the gears” of the Brulian romance? Fans will get a chance to find out this week, as Nichols teased Monday’s episode by saying the new girl, actress and Clothes Over Bros model Alex Dupre will get in Julian’s face and definitely cause some trouble for Brooke.

Why Quinn Won’t Jump Into Bed with Clay
One of the fresh new faces of One Tree Hill season 7 is Shantel VanSanten as Quinn, Haley’s older sister. Joining the show this late isn’t easy to start with, and gets even more complicated when there’s a complicated family tree to understand.
I spoke to Shantel about how she got prepared for the role, her sisterly bond with Bethany Joy Galeotti, and whether Quinn will hop straight into bed with Clay now that she’s left her husband.
As Robert Buckley revealed in my interview with him, he and Shantel got together before filming to sit through some One Tree Hill DVDs to try and understand where they were at with the show.
For Shantel, the job was a bit harder since she’s coming in as Haley’s big sister Quinn, so she needed to catch up on everything with the family, from Taylor’s storyline to their parents.

One Tree Hill is in seventh heaven
With the number of new shows debuting on prime time television each week, it is becoming more and more difficult for the veteran shows to remain on the air as their competition is constantly increasing.That does not appear to be a problem though for the CW’s ‘One Tree Hill’ as it just had its’ seventh season premiere on Monday night.
“We’re really lucky”, said ‘One Tree Hill’s Sophia Bush when I caught up with her and two of her cast mates at the ‘Celebrity Autograph Fundraiser’ in Wilmington, NC, only a couple days prior to the premiere.Lucky is right; while young adult drama’s are coming and going like a class of new students every year, ‘One Tree Hill’ has still not graduated from television and it does not appear that it will anytime soon.
A reason for its’ steady residence on prime time television could be the developments and transformations creator Mark Schwahn has made with his characters throughout the years giving the actors a chance to explore new depths within their roles. Taking her role of Brooke Davis to new heights was something Bush told me she was very eager to do. “It was really hard for me to play Brooke in season one. I enjoy how the writers have grown her”, said Bush, who while is very glad to be on the same show for as long as she has, is even more glad she is not playing the exact same person she was six years ago. “I wouldn’t have been able to play Brooke this long if she had not changed at all”, Bush said. “I appreciate how she’s evolved”.

Meanwhile on the CW season premieres of One Tree Hill (1.2/3, 1.6/5, 2.59M) and Gossip Girl (1.4/3, 2.1/5, 2.52M) were practically muted compared to The Vampire Diaries. Though Gossip Girl probably had a strong outing with women 18-34 (haven’t seen those numbers yet).

Mark Schwahn preps “One Tree Hill” for another season of change
When the locally filmed drama series “One Tree Hill” returns Monday night, the seven-year-old show will once again jump ahead in time – this time just 14 months. It’s a move that series creator Mark Schwahn hopes will help fans mourning the loss of series regulars Chad Michael Murray as Lucas and Hilarie Burton as Peyton to accept new characters and storylines.
A time jump worked before: Season five began four years after the end of season four, as all the regular characters returned to the fictional town of Tree Hill after going their separate ways for college. So is this season sort of a season five redux?
“It’s not as radical,” Schwahn says, “but in terms of new cast…. In season 5 we introduced a bunch of new characters. We’ve done that again. We were losing two really important cast members and we wanted to add some new faces, and I thought if some time had passed, that will really help me as opposed to everyone just showing up at the same time.”

‘One Tree Hill’ Interview: Creator Mark Schwahn on Season 7 and a Leyton Return?
Let’s do the time warp again. One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn has decided that he hasn’t had enough flash forwards, so season 7, premiering tonight at 8pm on the CW, will mark the second time the show jumps into the future, though this time it will only be for 14 months instead of four years. BuddyTV spoke with the One Tree Hill mastermind to find out what’s new for season 7. Schwahn talked about the themes of this season, how the new characters will be introduced, what’s going on with Dan Scott and the possibility of a Lucas and Peyton return.
The Theme of Season 7
According to Schwahn, one of the central themes of this season will be “When you’re someone who’s in the spotlight, what are your responsibilities and are the rules different.”
Nathan is now a famous professional basketball star, Haley is making a new album, Brooke is an international clothing designer and Julian is a globe-trotting movie producer. One Tree Hill has matured, and now the show will look at fame and how it affects the more person stories fans are used to seeing.
