Less than 24 hours after word broke that neither Chad Michael Murray nor Hilarie Burton will be returning for One Tree Hill's seventh season, there is new intel on exactly who will be filling the void.
Though early reports suggested that only two new faces would be arriving in Tree Hill, it looks like we might get three, based on casting call info obtained by Spoiler TV.
For starters, there's Quinn, one of Haley's older sisters. She is described as "a free spirit... strong-willed ... but also self-effacing." She'll hit town toting a broken heart. Note: Quinn is not to be mistaken for Taylor, the sis of Haley's who took Nathan's V-card — though that sure could have been a fun reunion.
Tree Hill viewers also will meet Alexis, the "gorgeous" new face of Brooke's clothing line. My favorite bit on this beauty: "She has never met a party she didn't like." Watch out, Wilmington!
Lest female fans not get any new eye candy, there's also a casting call out for Clayton, who in addition to desperately needing a name change is a sports agent who crosses paths with Nathan. The foundation for this "handsome" lad's arrival is laid in the Tree Hill season-ender airing May 18.

It looks like One Tree Hill newlyweds Peyton and Lucas are about to embark on a permanent honeymoon.
Sources confirm to EW.com’s Ausiello Files exclusively that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, whose characters tied the knot in last night's penultimate episode, will not be returning for the show's seventh season next fall. The CW is expected to formally announce their departures next Thursday at its "upfront" presentation.
Murray and Burton have been engaged in rather high profile contract negotiations for the past several months. Ultimately, a deal couldn't be worked out and both actors will make their final appearances in next Monday's season finale.
To fill the void next season, a Tree Hill insider tells EW.com that two new characters will be introduced. Additionally, Austin Nichols (Julian) is being promoted to a series regular.

James Laffery's Business
James Lafferty is preparing to tip off another phase of his career.
The actor, who plays high school coach and NBA hopeful Nathan Scott on “One Tree Hill” has a long history with basketball. He earned the MVP award on his high school team and went on to use those talents in the ESPN movie “A Season on the Brink.”
After landing the role on “One Tree Hill,” Lafferty organized a popular annual charity basketball game with the show’s cast and crew playing against each other.
On Feb. 28, though, the 23-year-old actor was busy directing an episode of the show while his new entertainment sports consulting and production company, SportsArc, hosted a launch party in California.
“Now I’ve had a lot more behind-the-scenes experience than I had previously and that’s going to benefit me a lot in knowing what it takes to prepare sports coordination for other projects,” Lafferty said in an interview in April.

CW’s “Gossip Girl” (1.0/3 in 18-49, 2.0 million viewers overall) continues to perform sluggishly, with the net then picking up a tad at 9 p.m. with “One Tree Hill” (1.1/3 in 18-49, 2.2 million viewers overall). In adults 18-34, both “Hill” (1.6/4) and “Gossip” (1.4/4) ranked fifth in their hours among the English-language broadcast networks.

If you’re a lover of low-budget wonders, it’s likely your weekend will be dominated by the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival.
Formerly the Sometime In October Film Festival, CFIFF will pack Friday through Sunday with features and shorts of many genres.
This year’s guest host is actor Joe Manganiello, whose credits include the role of Flash Thompson in “Spider-Man” (2002) and Owen Morello on Wilmington’s own “One Tree Hill.”
In addition to introducing film blocks, Manganiello will give his insights into the acting business during the Working Actors Seminar on Saturday.
But the Star-News picked up a few insights from the tall, dark Pittsburgh native earlier this week during a phone interview from California.

According to his fan site, Austin has signed with One Tree Hill for 2 years. So he will definitely be back next season, and if the show lives on, he will be back for at least one more.

He always seemed like such a nice young man, but it turns out Antwon Tanner has more ‘skills’ than we realized. The actor who portrays football player and cougar wrangler Antwon ‘Skills’ Taylor on One Tree Hill was indicted today in Brooklyn, New York for trafficking fake Social Security cards and numbers. He surrendered peacefully to authorities and faced a court on Thursday.
There are two charges, and neither a very specific. The first is that he “knowingly and intentionally” transferred Social Security numbers with the intent to commit fraud in order to secure items valued at over $1,000. The other is that he used at least one of the numbers personally.
Since principal photography for One Tree Hill has wrapped for this season Tanner’s fate is unlikely to effect that of Skills on the show in the coming weeks. But it’s extremely unlikely that the producers will allow Tanner to continue as a member of the cast, meaning the character will likely be written out of the story in short order.
Tanner, who splits his year between Los Angeles and Wilmington, North Carolina, whereOne Tree Hill is filmed, is 34 years old. He previously starred with Samuel L. Jackson inCoach Taylor.

Nick Lachey talks about his experience on One Tree Hill:
"as some of you may have heard, i'm going to be on the show "one tree hill". i just shot the first episode this past monday in wilmington, nc. i have to say that everyone in the cast and on the crew were awesome to work with. it was a lot of fun to do some tv again! you guys will have to keep an eye out for the episode when it airs. i will be performing the song "all in my head" in the first episode and then be appearing in a second episode as well. i'd love to tell you what happens, but you'll have to wait to see it for yourselves! trust me, it'll be worth watching!"
Nick will first appear in episode #6.21 "A Kiss To Build A Dream On" which airs April 27th!

Despite Chad Michael Murray’s claim that, “They haven’t even called me up to say, ‘Hey we want you back…nothing,’ ” CMM’s people are in negotiations with the One Tree Hill studio. Sounds like we can all brace ourselves for a cliffhanger ending to season six.

Yes. It’s not just an episode, it’s now an arc. The former newlywed was originally scheduled to appear just once, but I hear show creator Mark Schwahn asked Nick to stick around an extra week and he agreed.
